Stobart to buy 500 EGR Scanias in 2007

Eddie Stobart is the latest high-profile haulier to commit to EGR, having appointed Scania is its preferred truck supplier for 2007. It has placed orders for more than 500 vehicles, with deliveries starting in March.

According to Scania () boss Dan Hoij, the order was won following “rigorous competitive trials”. Hoij says: “In addition to low whole-life costs, fuel economy and operating efficiency, Scania EGR was a factor strongly in our favour as Eddie Stobart wishes to avoid the additional burden of SCR and AdBlue.”

The order consists of R420 tractors and rigids, and a pair of fire appliances that will be based at .
