Streetwise Couriers can now accept offer online payments for its collection and delivery service using Paypal or credit cards. Customers access the website (http://www.streetwisedeliver.com/) then go through a step-by-step process which calculates the charge, based on collection and destination postcodes, the service required and consignments weight and dimensions.

Management buyout at Taygroup
Sales and operations directors take control of Taygroup following an MBO. Bedfordshire-based logistics firm Taygroup has undergone a £9m management buyout (MBO) allowing its sales and operations directors to take control of the business. Chairman Nick Taylor, who set up the business in 1991 as Taylored Lines with finance director Paul Craven, sold his investment in the business and is no longer involved in the industry.

Taygroup's Taylor sells firm to management team
Former Taygroup chief Nick Taylor has sold the business in a management buyout deal worth £8.75m. Taylor, who founded the business 15 years ago, has chosen to retire but will still be "an adviser to the company", says sales and marketing director Nigel Greenslade. Control of the business now goes to managing director Jon Wright and operations director Lloyd Dennaford. Wright was previously sales director at the Biggleswade-based firm.

Khan may not have impounded truck returned
An operator who had one of his vehicles impounded by Vosa may not get it back after failing to pay the appropriate fine. The warning was given as Jabbar Abdul Khan of Lozells, Birmingham, who runs Khan Transport, was fined £500 with £115 costs by Solihull magistrates after admitting to having no O-licence. Khan told the magistrates that his truck was taken from him after the agency discovered the offence in June during a roadside check in Birmingham.
