TDG sells Grangemouth rail terminal to EWS

TDG has sold its Grangemouth, Falkirk intermodal terminal to EWS because the rail operator had more money available to invest in the site. The terminal is to form an important element of EWS's plan to treble the amount of freight it carries through the Channel Tunnel within three years.

EWS says the increase in business will be helped by the scrapping of the minimum usage charge and Eurotunnel's decision to slash freight rates by half. TDG strategy and marketing director David Hindson says: "We shall certainly continue to use Grangemouth, but it made sense for EWS to run it."
