A team of Volvo technicians have reached the semi-finals of the WorldSkills UK Heavy Vehicle Technicians Competition.
The successful team includes: Stuart Burkat from Volvo Truck and Bus Centre London - Enfield; Ryan Sturgess from Volvo Truck and Bus Centre London - Croydon; and James Wade from MC Truck and Bus, Hythe, Kent.
A total of 144 competitors took part in the initial rounds, with 18 technicians progressing to the semi-finals, which will be held in Loughborough in July.
In the semi-finals there will be six tasks assessing any of the following: engine electrical systems; engine mechanical systems; steering and suspension; transmission systems; braking systems; and vehicle inspections.
The top six candidates will progress to the final, which will be held in November at the NEC in Birmingham.
