Tesco appoints Scania to manage vehicle maintenance

Tesco has appointed Scania to manage and operate the vehicle maintenance unit at its new Goole regional distribution centre. The seven-bay workshop is open round the clock Monday to Friday with extended hours at the weekend. Transport at the centre is provided by Eddie Stobart through 50 tractor units and 75 Tesco trailers.

"Having worked closely in conjunction with Scania for many years, we have complete confidence in the ability of the team at Goole to maintain the fleet to the standards we require," says John Larosa, Tesco regional engineer.

"Scania was already servicing the Stobart fleet in the area before our new centre opened and, given they also provide a full trailer and tail lift maintenance service, it made perfect sense to extend the relationship by appointing them to operate the new vehicle maintenance unit on our behalf," he adds.
