The new Iveco Stralis has been launched in Rome, and these are the first pictures.

The new model will come with a Euro 5 engine as standard, although UK operators will be able to make a significant saving by opting for the Euro 4 engine instead.

Both versions will feature OBD2, the on-board diagnostics that becomes mandatory in October. This will reduce the engine torque by 60 percent if the truck runs out of AdBlue.

As well as a mild external facelift and interior makeover, the truck is being offered with two new cab sizes, the Cube and Super Cube. Both cabs add 40mm depth, and the latter will compete with the likes of the Topline, XXL and Super Space Cab.

  • New Stralis will be launched at the CV Show next month, and will be between 2 and 5 percent more expensive than the current model.
