Thompsons has launched its first production tipping trailer, the Paymaster. The bodybuilder said it will enable tipper operators to carry 50% more payload – an extra 10 tonnes of product – than an equivalent 8x4 rigid.

Designed for multi-purpose operation, the Paymaster’s steel chassis, built by German firm Fliegl, is a lightweight design tapered towards the front.

The single-skinned body is made from Hardox 450 – the standard material for Thompsons’ Loadmaster Lite rigid bodies.

Director Scott Burton said: “Tipper operators have been asking us for some time whether we will do a trailer – and now we have. Tipper operators are wanting not just rigids or trailers, but both. By introducing Paymaster, Thompsons can now meet their needs precisely.”

The first Paymaster trailer has recently been put into service by Hurt (Plant Hire) of Preston (right).
