Aerodynamic truck rules now adopted in UK
EU regualtions permitting longer, more areodynamic trucks are now enshrined in UK law

Thorncliffe Building Supplies, one of the largest independent builder’s merchants in North Wales and the north west of England, has taken delivery of three new DAF trucks with Boughton bodies.
Two of the units are DAF LF 18-tonne skip loaders, while the other truck is a DAF CF 32-tonne hookloader. All three trucks will be used across the business offering waste management and skip hire services.
Tim Harper, director at Thorncliffe Building Supplies, said: “We run a mixed fleet of 80 trucks across our business, but the DAF product has the most driver appeal. Our drivers are very impressed with the AS-Tronic gearbox and the level of driver comfort when out on the road.”
The vehicles were supplied by DAF dealer North West Trucks, who Thorncliffe rate highly for their customer service and back-up.
“As a British company we believe it’s important to buy British and British made products. We specified our DAFs with Boughton equipment thanks to their long-standing heritage in the UK. North West Trucks availability meant they were able to supply us with the vehicles we needed without the long lead times which is great for our business.
