Ryan O’Donovan Haulage has taken delivery of three new 8x4 Volvo FMX tippers.

Two of the Volvos are built as conventional front end tippers with single skin Loadmaster Lite steel bodies and one is a tipper grab equipped with an Epsilon crane, Harsh underfloor gear and a full-spec, double-skin heavy duty Loadmaster body.

The new additions to Ryan O’Donovan’s 16-stong fleet include optional extras including a name branded rear end plate, LED reversing lights and strobe warning lights, tailgate spill deflector and nearside toolbox. This allows drivers to safely store items that would otherwise be visible through the nearside door window.

Owner Ryan O’Donovan said: “Our family started off in road haulage over 60 years ago, and between us we’ve bought tipper bodies from Thompsons for a good deal of that time. Our three new trucks show that this is a relationship that continues as strong as ever.”

The tippers will operate across Enfield, Tottenham and North London on jobs including site clearance, muckaway and spoil removal, the delivery of aggregates and waste disposal.

O’Donovan said: “In choosing our vehicles, we value versatility and reliability above all else because it’s these factors that really underpin the overall quality of service that we can offer to our clients. And with tippers, it’s obviously their bodies that take the brunt of the hard work. In a nutshell, we know that Thompsons Loadmasters can easily handle whatever we ask of them.

“No two days are ever the same so the fleet has to be able to handle each and every job that comes along. This is really where Thompsons’ product quality really shines - they are designed and built for exactly that purpose.”

Thompsons joint managing director, Scott Burton, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have built these new tippers for Ryan. We have been privileged to work with the O’Donovan family for the best part of half a century now, and it’s a working relationship that we value most highly. Long may it continue!”
