Staffordshire haulier Ron Marsh, another transport firm owned by Kevin Tinnelly, has finally entered liquidation according to documents filed at Companies House.
The Newcastle-under-Lyme operator was bought by Tinnelly International Transport (TIT) in February 2006, with the firm's property - Stone House Farm - used as collateral against a £1.9m loan with Northern Bank to fund the deal.
However, the ownership of the property has since come under scrutiny after TIT's administrator, Duncan Morris, revealed that it was apparently owned by one of the directors and not the company itself.
Morris is also liquidator of Ron Marsh. In the firm's statement of affairs, he says it has a total deficiency of £1.9m.
Curiously, although it indicates that it owes Northern Bank £1.9m, Morris says that £600,000 of this will be paid off through the realisation of property.
It is impossible to say whether this is the same property he refers to in his dealings with TIT; we have made repeated attempts to speak to Morris to clarify the situation but to no avail.
TIT is also listed as a creditor of Ron Marsh and is owed £540,000 by the Staffordshire business. There is no mention of the third formerly Tinnelly-owned business, Barnes & Tipping, in the list of creditors although its administrators claim it is owed £215,000 by Ron Marsh.
