Tooles Transport has joined The Pallet Network (TPN), at the same time as its replacement at Palletways, DY Pallets Logistics has appointed liquidators.
Droitwich-based Tooles Transport will cover deliveries in Gloucester and Worcestershire for TPN, with effect from 10 January. The firm finished its 10-year partnership with Palletways in September last year, handing over the same postcodes to new member DY Pallets Logistics, which joined from Fortec.
However, Dudley-based DY Pallets Logistics appointed Brian Hamblin and Ian Gould of PFK (UK) as joint liquidators to the business on 5 January, leaving Palletways with no fixed member for the Gloucester and Worcestershire deliveries.
Tooles Transport will continue to help distribute outbound Palletways freight until a permanent replacement is found, according to company MD John Tool.
A spokeswoman for Palletways says other existing members have also stepped in to deliver to the affected postcodes.
Toole says: "We have had a good decade working with Palletways, but we felt TPN's ethos and future plans fitted better with our current business model."
