Trailermaster has launched a new mobile app that enables operators to have complete visibility of their trailer fleet. The trailer telematic system, made by Axscend, can be used on any computer, tablet or smartphone device and is said to be much more than basic track and trace telematic systems, describing itself as “the next generation in trailer telematics”.

Axscend national sales manager, Glenn Young, said: “Traditionally trailer telematics has been little more than a GPS tracking device, and cost justification has always been a challenge. The Trailermaster solution is proven to dramatically enhance the efficiency, productivity and utilisation of trailer fleets, resulting in tangible cost savings.”

Trailermaster monitors location, as well as providing alerts on faults with lighting, tyre pressures, EBS and braking performance.

“We’re delighted to be launching this new app which will extend all the benefits of the platform to users on-the-go,” added Young.

Trailermaster integrates the many pieces of equipment commonly fitted to trailers, to provide complete connectivity and control over a trailer fleet. Features of the platform include maintenance monitoring, tyre pressure monitoring (TPMS), and the Axscend’s patented Electronic Brake Performance Monitoring System (EBPMS).

"With EBPMS, brake performance is automatically monitored during braking events while the trailer is on the road. It is recognised by the DVSA as an appropriate brake test and reduces the burden associated with frequent roller brake testing,” Young said.

SAF Holland acquired a majority stake in Trailermaster in 2018 enabling the business to launch the new iOS mobile app in February 2020.
