Guest Truck and Van has supplied 14 new Iveco Stralis tractor units to fashion and automotive freight specialist Transmec Group in a £1.2m deal.

The sleeper cab trucks, which produce 480hp, include driver attention support, high-capacity fridges and infotainment systems. MD at West Bromwich-based Guest Truck and Van Rob Spittle said: “Transmec has taken the time to look at exactly what it needs from a truck for the sort of operation it is running.

“Modern commercial fleets are about efficiency, performance and maximising productivity. That means intelligent engineering and designing the cab around drivers who want a high level of comfort, infotainment and an excellent working environment.

“It’s always satisfying and impressive to see a convoy of vehicles leaving our forecourt to begin a life as part of a hard-working fleet.” Transmec operates 180 tractor units and handles more than one million shipments each year.

Imran Mohammed, financial controller at Transmec, said: “We chose this dealer and manufacturer combination because of the flexibility, value and good customer service they have offered.”
