Shropshire-based Trevor Pye Transport has marked 30 years in business by ordering a brand new Volvo FH500 decorated with an anniversary seal.
Husband and wife team Trevor and Margaret Pye founded their company in Wem in October 1984 and they chose the truck as a fitting tribute to the Volvo F12 they bought 30 years ago, which is still running.
The company offers temperature-controlled distribution throughout the UK – and transports everything from refrigerated food and fruit to groceries and seeds.
The new Volvo purchase, supplied by the Hartshorne Group in Shrewsbury, also has the number plate T30 PYE.
“People ask if we ever clash because we spend so much time working together and living together, but we don’t really argue. I think you need to make sure you don’t take things home with you,” says Margaret.
“It’s a partnership and I don’t think either of us would like to do it any other way.”
