Trevor Tack has been crowned the winner of the HIAB World Crane Championships UK Qualifying Round and will progress to the final at the IAA in Hannover this autumn.

Held at Road Transport Expo at NAEC Stoneleigh on 2 July, Tack completed a demanding skills course in a time of just 3 minutes 32 seconds during the final.

Second place went to Andrew White from Lawsons Builders Merchants with a time of 4 minutes 30 seconds, while Samantha Mason of Trafford Haulage placed third, completing the course in 6 minutes 26 seconds.

Tack, from Brackley-based civil engineering firm Agetur UK, is no stranger to the Championship having won the UK competition in 2016 and 2018.

He said: “It wasn’t the best of times, I got 2:28 in practice, but there was no one watching, no music and no rain which made it slippery.

"I’m looking forward to going back, seeing some of the boys again. This will be the third time, hopefully it will go well with a bit more practice."

The finals take place at the IAA Transportation fair in Hannover, Germany, September 24–25, 2022.
