Pall-Ex founder member Truswell Haulage has switched networks to join rival Palletforce.

The Barnsley-based haulage company says the decision to sever its long relationship with the Leicestershire network was taken after a review of its pallet operations.

"As part of the measures taken to further improve customer service, we have totally reviewed our pallet distribution operations and decided that Palletforce is a forward-thinking and quality-driven organisation that best suits our needs," says joint MD Ian Truswell.

"The Truswell brand is renowned for reliability, quality of service and good value, and we remain dedicated to servicing the requirements of all our customers and fellow members of Palletforce for many years to come."

Truswell Haulage currently operates a fleet of around 80 trucks and is involved in the transport of heavy haulage plant and machinery and plastic goods.

By joining Palletforce it has access to its £30m Burton-upon-Trent distribution centre, along with 85 other transport companies.

"Truswell Haulage is a well-established, highly experienced firm that puts quality at the heart of everything it does, which is why we are delighted to welcome them to the Palletforce family," says Palletforce chief executive Michael Conroy.

Pall-Ex managing director Adrian Russell told Roadtransport.com that the split had been an amicable one that boiled down to a businesses decision for Truswell, adding the and two parties remained on good terms.
