HC Wright has added a pair of new Fruehauf trailers to its fleet.

The Caistor-based operator, which has a 127-year history, opted for 70cu yard Sloper Smoothsider tippers.

They will cover roughly 110,000km per annum, predominantly transporting grain. The company mainly works for major grain merchants across the Midlands including Openfield, Humber Grain and Woldgrain, but also transports malting barley to brewer Coors and French agri-food group Soufflet.

Commenting on the decision to invest in Fruehauf again, Jon Wright, who is a fifth generation haulier, said: “They are robust, long-lasting and never cause any problems. With Fruehauf, I think we have that mix of reliability, build quality and good back-up.

“We went for a smooth-sided trailer over a ribbed one for easy cleaning. The performance chassis is lightweight and it has alloy wheels to maximise payload. The hydroclear electric sheet from Dawbarn facilitates easy loading and unloading.”

HC Wright Hauliers runs a mixed MAN, Scania and Volvo fleet, and seven out of its 11 trailers are now Fruehauf.
