The first of 30 new Isuzu N75.190(E) rigids have joined Stapleton’s Tyre Services. The tyre distributor’s 7.5-tonne fleet has been exclusively Isuzu since 2007 after transitioning over from a rival manufacturer. The new trucks are bodied with 18ft boxes from Essex Bodies to maximise load capacity.
As replacements for older Isuzu trucks, Stapleton’s will use the N Series trucks on new tyre deliveries and casing collections as part of its recycling programme. The vehicles join a mixed fleet of 1,300 commercial vehicles.
Nick Cooper, head of group vehicles at parent company, European Tyre Enterprises, says: “When the time comes to order new trucks for our 7.5-tonne fleet, we survey the market to see what is available, but every time we come to the same conclusion – nothing beats what Isuzu has to offer. From the outstanding payload and superb reliability, right through to the customer support we receive, it’s an obvious choice.”
Cooper said: “The level of support we get is superb; if we ever have an issue, we take the vehicle to whichever Isuzu Truck dealer is closest, safe in the knowledge that the service we receive will be top tier.”
Lee Tansley, national fleet sales manager for Isuzu Truck UK, said: “We’re very proud of the relationship we have built with the team at Stapleton’s Tyre Services over the last 17 years. Working to optimise the body in order to maximise payload really shows how our 7.5-tonne chassis can fit particular customer needs, and of course our unrivalled reliability keeps them coming back.”
The new trucks are expected to stay on the fleet for six years, covered by a repair and maintenance contract during this time. While the trucks are run by Stapleton’s Tyre Services, the company anticipates annual mileage of around 65,000 miles working six days a week.
Isuzu Trucks will be exhibiting at Road Transport Expo 2025, which takes place at NAEC Stoneleigh between 24-26 June. It’s free to attend and registrations are now open.
