When you buy an Iveco, you usually get a lot of truck for your money. Big cabs, a superb driveline and low mileages can all be secured in a deal that won’t break the bank.
The Stralis has been with us for nigh on 20 years, although its time has come to an end as it has recently been superseded by the new S-WAY. This means it’s a good time to pick up a used
Stralis bargain.
The Stralis replaced the popular EuroTech and EuroStar models from the 1990s. The former was a good seller, while the latter was more popular with owner drivers, small fleet operators and international hauliers.
The Stralis reversed those trends. It was the wide-cabbed high roof model that was the biggest seller in the range, while the narrow-cabbed fleet trucks never reached their maximum sales potential in the UK.
What’s available?
We’ve found a pair of 2017 Iveco Stralis tractors – each with the Euro-6 Cursor 11 engine rated at 460hp making them the perfect tools for 44-tonne work. They’re available for sale by Dollar Industries in Stoke, one of the country’s leading dealers for good-quality second-hand Ivecos.
At just £37,000 (plus VAT), these 6x2 mid-lift twin steers are both finished in plain white – making application of you own livery relatively easy. They come with high roof sleepers, which means there’s plenty of room for the driver and their belongings.
Both are Stralis Hi-Way S440S46TX/P XP models. They have the latest ZF TraXon gearboxes with eco-roll and the newer drive axles with revised rear anti-roll bars.
The twin-bunk cabs boast an impressive spec, with creature comforts including satellite navigation, Bluetooth, air-conditioning, fridge, a single-piece deluxe bottom bunk and folding top bunk, under bunk drawer, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, two full air-suspended and heated seats (of which the passenger seat has the swivel function), central locking and spare keys.
Both trucks are low mileage, having covered 230,000km and 270,000km respectively.
They have 60%-plus tyre life and come with full service histories, MoTs and are inspected and fully valeted. For extra piece of mind, both are one-owner vehicles. Their condition is excellent, as you would expect from such low mileages.
And if these are a little too expensive for your budget, then you may be interested to hear that Dollar also has a good selection of 2015 460 Iveco Stralis Hi-Way 6x2s, with under 400,000km on their clocks. These too would be supplied fully inspected, and represent great value for money.
Who will buy them?
These are potentially great trucks to start a business with, and represent good deals if you either need additional trucks quickly or simply want to reduce your operating costs.
