Van Elle converts Daf CFs to run on dual fuel

Building foundations specialist Van Elle has converted two of its new tractor units to run on an environmentally friendly dual fuel. The Pinxton, Nottinghamshire-based firm's two Daf CFs will use a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and diesel mix.

The company has also just purchased a Volvo FH12 Globetrotter unit along with two flat trailers and a low loader. Van Elle, which has sites at Pinxton, Gateshead and East Dereham, is opening an operating centre at its branch in Sheffield.

The company has a restricted O-licence and a mixed fleet of 27 vehicles across the locations. Andy Slatcher, Van Elle transport manager, says: "With the conversion of the Dafs, we hope we are doing our bit for the planet and reducing our carbon footprint.
