Volvo dealer Truck & Bus Wales & West has unveiled its new dealerpoint in Bridgwater, Somerset, formerly the site of a heavy haulage yard and a third-party workshop.
The refurbishment includes an upgraded office and workshop buildings at the facility, which is on the Polden Business Centre, close to junction 23 of the M5. The rebranded depot features new exterior cladding as well as a new parts department and parts delivery van.
The workshop features a new compressor, mobile column lifts and lubrication equipment, and an extra roller door. AJB Plant Services, a sister company of the dealer, which maintains and repairs plant and machinery mainly at customer sites using mobile service vans, will also share the site.
In addition, plant haulage specialist Tim Hansford Transport will continue to use the site as an operating centre. Truck & Bus Wales & West MD Billy Nairn said: “We intend to double the workshop capacity with three new bays and add an ATF lane.
“Bridgwater is already working to capacity most days, so the new development will increase vehicle throughput, introduce longer opening hours and allow us to base Volvo Action Service vans.” Opening hours at Bridgwater are 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday, while Saturday opening is available on request.
