More than 18,000 staff working in 4,500 teams are expected to take part in the Volvo Trucks 2017/18 global dealership technician competition, which is now open for entry.
Groups participating in the biennial Volvo International Service Training Awards (Vista) need to complete two initial stages: theoretical and technical. Winners qualify for the semi-finals in Gothenburg, Sweden, in April 2018, where 240 teams compete over a three-week period.
The top 40 teams then progress to the world final in Curitiba, Brazil, in June 2018. Vista is designed to encourage teamwork, promote self improvement and, for the manufacturer, address the worldwide challenge of recruiting and retaining workshop technicians.
Volvo Trucks president Claes Nilsson said: “Vista improves our skills and gives us the motivation to be the best crew in the world, and if our mechanics are the best in the world they are motivated to do the best job for customers.”
