Volvo Truck and Bus Centre East Anglia supplies FH Tridem to JR Glenn

JR Glenn and Daughters has taken delivery of a Volvo FH Tridem 8x2 rigid from Volvo Truck and Bus Centre East Anglia in Ely.

The potato haulier based in Sandy, Bedfordshire, said the 460hp truck with I-Shift automated transmission can carry up to 19 tonnes of potatoes thanks to the Tridem configuration, while maintaining manoeuvrability.

Priden Engineering carried out the bodywork, DJ Elbury and Son did the paintwork while Tranztech provided hand fabricated stainless steel side skirts.

Its Globetrotter cab features double bunks, a fridge/freezer, leather upholstery and air suspended seats.

The truck, which will distribute potatoes to fish and chip shops around London, is expected to cover about 80,000km a year.
