A team of mechanics from Volvo Truck and Bus Centre East Anglia has won the European regional semi-finals of the Volvo International Service Training Award (VISTA).
Out of 10 teams representing the UK and Ireland in Gothenburg earlier this month:
. I Tools finished ahead of MC Hammers from MC Truck & Bus, Thurrock – who came third in last year’s world final. Team FS from Thomas Hardie Commercials, Preston’s, finished third.
. I Tools led by Richard Clayton, who won Best Team Leader, will represent the UK and Ireland at the final, in Gothenburg, in May.
More than 18,500 participants have taken part in this year’s VISTA including 40 teams in the UK and Ireland.
In addition to the European semi-finals, there have been semi-finals in Brazil, the US and Thailand, to decide which 32 teams will make the final. The competition started in 1957 in Sweden. Teams are tested on their ability to work together, solve problems and follow instructions.
