Fife based, removals, storage and distribution specialists, Flemings of Rosyth has taken delivery of its first new Volvo trucks in 20 years.

The two FL-210 12-tonne rigids, supplied by Volvo Truck and Bus Centre North & Scotland’s Edinburgh branch, feature D5K four cylinder engines producing 210hp and six-speed overdrive I-Sync automated gearboxes.

Flemings of Rosyth specified day cabs on 5,000mm wheelbase chassis to accommodate the company’s Adcliffe demountable body systems.

It also opted for two person, bench passenger seats, as the trucks will always be double-manned and sometimes host a third crew member. They also carry chassis mounted storage boxes for the carriage of additional Ad Blue containers and the latter guarantees supplies when the trucks operate in remote or rural areas.

The Inverkeithing-based haulier, which is marking its 50th year in business, currently operates a mixed truck fleet of ten and employs 33 staff.

Andrew Fleming, director at Flemings of Rosyth said: “We have a total of 14 separate Adcliffe bodies that can be used with the two new Volvo FLs and that gives us superb vehicle utilisation.

“The two FLs are our first Volvo trucks for 20 years.”
