North Yorkshire haulier Ward Bros (Malton) has been granted an interim extension to its O-licence, after it took on some of the contracts it previously shared with Bulmers Transport as the company entered administration.
The company had put in a request for a new authorisation at an existing operating centre in Dormor Way, South Bank, Middlesbrough for 72 vehicles and 75 trailers and a second one for an existing operating centre in Town Street, Old Malton for six vehicles and 25 trailers.
A spokesman for the Traffic Commissioner's (TC) office says the TC has granted an interim direction pending further inquiries and a decision will be made on whether to grant the substantive application in due course.
"If the application is granted, Ward Brothers (Malton) will have to have met all statutory requirements including that covering financial standing," he adds.
At the time, Bulmers-appointed administrators Harrisons Ward said it had offered jobs to about 70 staff from Bulmers Transport and taken on approximately 40% of Bulmers' fleet, some 60 vehicles.
