WH Malcolm's profit hits £11m

Entertainment logistics specialist KB Event has spent £1m on 12 new Euro-5 vehicles. The Nottingham-based firm has purchased five new Scania tractor units with Euro-5 SCR engines, and seven mixed-make rigids, including a trio of 26-tonners. KB Event provides transport, warehousing and shipping services for music tours, road shows, product launches and corporate events. Clients include Red Bull, Paul McCartney, Microsoft, the BBC and English Heritage.

Appearing before High Peak Magistrates, the Buxton-based bulk powder distributor pleaded guilty to nine offences of using vehicles when three drivers breached drivers' hours rules. It was fined £2,000, plus £541 in costs. The drivers - Alex Gregory, Timothy Marshall, and Kevin Wibberley - were fined £2,209, including costs.
