Whirlpool UK Appliances took the Operational and Compliance Excellence trophy at the MT Awards at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London, on 4 July.
Judges said the company had “gone over and above the call of duty to ensure the profitable, safe, legal and efficient running of its fleet”. Operations manager Rob Johnson said: “Concentrating on safety and being compliant is key for us. We are delighted to win the award, which is down to the commitment of the team.”
Also, Bradford-based Expect Distribution scooped the honours in the Safety in Operation category with judges commenting that the company had shown examples of good management awareness and engagement on safety matters. They added Expect had delivered an “impressive improvement in incident rates” as a result of the development of a “clear structure and strategy to promote a positive safety culture”.
