Essex-based Whitehare Aggregates has taken delivery of an Iveco Strator Bullnose rigid eight-wheeler, which it has named the Torpedo.

Imported from a Dutch Iveco dealership in Eindhoven, the unique vehicle, which the firm said is the only rigid of its type in the UK, took 10 weeks to convert to a Bullnose.

Lee Whitehair, MD at the family-run firm, said the Bullnose was costly to convert, but that its quirky look had helped it win new business.

The concrete batching specialist – which traditionally runs unusual vehicles – also took delivery of a new Iveco Trakker 10x4, which will join a nine-strong line-up of Scania, Renault and Volvo volumetric mixers, ranging in capacity from 6m³ to 11m³.

The company told CM it has achieved a BSI Kitemark for its concrete.
