Wimbledon gear stolen from truck

A large quantity of sportswear destined for tennis players at Wimbledon has been stolen from a truck parked overnight in East London, the Metropolitan Police has confirmed. It is understood 390 boxes of Adidas kits and other clothing was stolen from the lorry parked in Dock Road, Newham, on 18 June at 4am.

The items were bound for Adidas-sponsored players to wear during the championship event, however, the company says it replaced all the goods within 24 hours. The investigation is ongoing.
