Wincanton is kicking off its season of festival deliveries by transporting millions of litres of water to the Glastonbury Festival, which starts on Friday.
The logistics giant will be hauling water to Worthy Farm, Pilton, Somerset, for the famous festival, which runs from 24-26 June, and boasts headline acts Beyoncé (pictured), Coldplay and U2. The water will be used for toilets, drains and sewage systems, as well as bottled water.
Over the festival season, Wincanton will move 11 million litres of water to events across the UK, including the V Festival and the Notting Hill Carnival. At the peak of the season, the operator will be using 40 lorries to supply sites.
A Wincanton spokesman says: "With the increasing demand for better customer welfare and catering facilities, and more showers and toilets, this water really does make the festival season flow."
