Computer hardware logistics specialist WT Installations says MAN's telematics package, fitted in its 11 new TGL and TGM trucks, will help boost the operation's bottom line.

MD Ian Carter explains: "The onboard telematics will certainly help our drivers maximise productivity. We anticipate a reduction in downtime too, particularly as a result of prolonging clutch life."

Telematics are fitted as part of the MAN fleet-management package. Two of the trucks have factory-fit crew-cabs with space for installation teams, while the rest are a mix of L-cab single and LX double-sleepers.

The Middlesex firm's new trucks are all fitted with Tipmatic transmissions, rear air-suspension, and specialised bodywork and tail-lifts to handle high-value loads. Seven of the rigids run at 12 tonnes, the remainder at 18 tonnes.
