Lancashire-based Yearsley Group has taken delivery of its first ever fleet of MAN’s following a trial that pitted the TGX against rival manufacturers.
The 20 TGX 26.442BLS 6x2 tractor units are now running out of five of Yearsley’s 12 depots.
Mark Haslam, head of logistics at Yearsley – who joined the firm from Suttons Group in May - says: “This is part of our on-going strategy of replacing vehicles to ensure they remain as environmentally friendly and cost efficient as possible. These vehicles are the first Yearsley’s have ordered from MAN and we believe that the TGX is ideally suited to our operation.”
The trial saw the MAN post a lower purchase price, residual value, fuel consumption and maintenance costs than its rivals.
