Yorkshire Water has expanded its partnership with DigiCore by equipping a further 130 vans with the telematics manufacturer's system.

The purchase of DigiCore's C-Track system brings the total number of Yorkshire Water vans using the system to 500. The device allows Yorkshire Water to access a real-time overview of where each technician is, which will streamline the job allocation process.

DigiCore is also fitting a panic alarm and driver ID to each vehicle, which will provide added safety for the drivers and offer increased protection against vehicle theft.

A Yorkshire Water spokesman says: "Our vehicle tracking solution forms an essential aspect of a new maintenance strategy, which supports our plans to become the best water company in the UK. The latest developments will help us build on the operational efficiencies achieved over the past three years working in partnership with DigiCore."
