It is with great sadness that Hamilton-based haulier Yuill & Dodds has announced the unexpected death of Letitia Yuill (aged 78) on 24 July. Yuill passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital, Glasgow.

Tish, as she was affectionately known, jointly managed the family business founded in 1953 by her late husband Jimmy. She kept a solid hand on the financial side of the business while Jimmy took the business from its first steps in 1953 to one of Scotland’s leading transport operators by the mid-1980s, with a fleet of over 120 trucks.

Tish remained passionately committed to supporting her children in the daily running of the business and was still consistently putting in full days at the office.

The family would like to thank all friends, colleagues, customers and suppliers who have passed on their condolences and best wishes.
