New bodies, makes, models and cab types added to Commercialmotor.com search options
The search options in Commercialmotor.com's 'used vehicles' section have been updated once again to help buyers find exactly what they are looking for.
New body types have been added, primarily 'scaffolding' and 'plant and machinery trailer'. So there is no longer any need to scroll through hundreds of flatbed rigids to pick out the scaffolding trucks. Tugs and shunters, which regularly come up for sale on the site, now also benefit from their own page.
The next generation Scania S-Series launched last year and a number have already made their way on to the used market. It is one of the new models added to the site, along with a trio of light commercials: the Fiat Talento and Fullback, plus MAN's first ever LCV - the TGE.
And with Scania's new range including a low-entry cab type, it made sense to add this to our search criteria too. Finally, for trailer buyers, Stas - the Belgian manufacturer of tipping and moving floor trailers - gets its own page.
- On Commercialmotor.com we look to update our 'used vehicles' search options every quarter, so if you have any suggestions to make then please send them through to email@example.com
Unit Movements takes eight new Fuso Canter 7.5-tonners with Bevan box bodies
Cardiff-based furniture delivery firm Unit Movements has taken delivery of eight new Fuso Canter 7.5-tonners with Bevan box bodies.
The trucks with 180hp engines and twin-clutch Duonic automated transmissions, are the subject of contract hire agreements with Signal Vehicle Solutions. Six of them work from the company’s new DC in Avonmouth, while two are based at its headquarters in Cardiff.
Unit Movements MD Ben Thomas said: “Signal Vehicle Solutions were professional and knowledgeable, but they were also realistic about the demands of an operation such as ours. Rather than cruising up and down the motorway all day, these vehicles are working in some pretty arduous terrain, negotiating narrow lanes with overhanging branches, and a host of other hazards.
“Bumps and scrapes are therefore inevitable, and this has been factored into what is a very competitively priced agreement.”
Signal Vehicle Solutions, launched earlier this year, provides contract hire and leasing packages, and is a sister company but standalone business to South Wales Mercedes-Benz dealer Euro Commercials.
Unit Movements already runs Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans and Atego trucks from Euro Commercials. Signal Vehicle Solutions operations director James Mulligan said: “We’re not targeting run-of-the-mill ‘spot hire’ business.
“Rather, we’re focusing on longer-term contracts at the premium end of the market. We want to work with operators which, like Unit Movements, appreciate the opportunity to run quality products, with high specifications and industry-leading back-up.
“By aligning ourselves with customers who can be relied upon to look after their equipment, we can maintain high residual values and thereby ensure that our rates remain extremely competitive.”
