FloGas adds biomethane to its range

LPG and LNG supplier FloGas has added liquid biomethane bio-LNG to its range, claiming to be the first to supply the fuel off-grid.

Using bio-methane allows operators to achieve carbon emission reductions of up to 80%, it suggests.

The biomethane supplied by Flogas is produced from anaerobic digestion facilities, in which organic matter such as food, sewage sludge and animal waste is broken down to produce a methane-rich gas that is chemically almost identical to LNG.

David Taylor, head of corporate affairs and innovation at Flogas, said: “We’re so convinced by the benefits of bio-LNG that we’ve just added new bio-LNG trucks to our own fleet.

“These trucks are just one of many positive steps the business is taking, as we move towards a cleaner, greener future.”

Foden Alpha 2 S108R 8X4 tipper - Used Truck Deal of the Day

Foden Alpha

Today’s used truck deal of the day is a Foden Alpha 8x4 tipper with a stack exhaust.

This future classic is available from GS International who stock a wide range of tipper trucks, but the Foden caught our eye for its low mileage of 562,763 miles. While half a million miles might not seem like low mileage you have to consider that this truck is 16 years old having first been registered in 2003.

It has a Thomspon steel tipping body, electric easy sheet system and an automatic tailgate, and is powered by a Caterpillar Cat C12 engine producing 400hp and paired to a 12-speed manual gearbox.

Priced at £11,995 and MoT’d until January 2020, this 53-plate truck might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but its silver and black paintwork and vertical exhaust have a certain charm we can’t resist.

If it’s not for you, GS International has plenty of other steel bodied tippers from DAF, Scania, Volvo and many others.
