Guest Group launches new parts supplier Partscomm

Guest Group, parent to Iveco dealership Guest Truck and Van, has launched Partscomm – a new company that will offer parts, equipment and accessories for trucks, trailers and vans regardless of the model.

Partscomm has received more than £2m of investment to ensure that commercial vehicle parts and consumables are ready for same and next day delivery across central England.

It will run from a brand new 23,000sq ft warehouse in Hinckley, Leicestershire, and will be supplemented by 14 DCs and delivered by a fleet of dedicated vehicles.

Robert Spittle, MD at Guest Group, said: “As a group we are continually monitoring opportunities in the marketplace, whilst also ensuring we are meeting the needs of our customer base and Partscomm is a natural evolution of our parts operations to do just that.”

All 14 Partscomm DCs and the central Hinckley depot have trade counters for walk-in customers and collections.

Sales and marketing manager Jonathan Cutler said that Guest Group had spent some considerable time refining its product lines to ensure that customers would have the parts they need with a single delivery.

“We’re proud to be able to confidently promise our customers great service and availability, as well as very competitive prices right from the start,” he said.

Imperial Commercials breaks ground on new Gloucester site for 2019

DAF dealer Imperial Commercials is to invest £5m into a new, purpose-built truck dealership in Gloucester, just 1.5 miles from its current location. It broke ground earlier this week at the new 4.5-acre site on Spinnaker Road.

Completion is scheduled for the second quarter of 2019, and all 50 of its workforce at its existing site on Mercia Road will transfer to the new site. Truck and van workshop bays will cater for DAF and Fiat.

Imperial Commercials has 29 locations across the country and six locations in its western region: Bristol, Swindon, Frome, Hereford, Worcester and Gloucester. In 2015 it spent £2.75m on the construction of a new dealership in Swindon.

“We’re very excited at the prospect of operating from Spinnaker Road,” said Daniel Fitzjohn, regional director of Imperial Commercials western region, “The hard work being delivered by our current Mercia Road team has laid the groundwork for a fantastic future for Imperial Commercials in the region. The new dealership will help us raise our service levels to even greater heights, and local operators can look forward to a seamless transition to Spinnaker Road next Spring.”

Andy Downton, managing director at customer CM Downton said: “We’ve enjoyed outstanding support from Imperial Commercials for many years, and this high level of service goes a long way to ensuring that the DAF marque comprises 95% of our fleet.

“We have developed a close relationship with a number of individuals at Imperial Commercials and this has engendered a true partnership between us. The investment in a new location is a clear signal that Imperial Commercials’ commitment to us is in place for many years to come,” he added.
