New Peterborough dealer for Isuzu
Isuzu has appointed Manchetts Peterborough a full sales, service and parts dealer, replacing the former dealer Motus Commercials.
Located in the city’s Fengate industrial area, the site has a seven-bay workshop which includes ATF facilities and a tachograph Centre, 15 technicians including three Isuzu Master technicians, parts staff and an Isuzu Care (service programme) specialist.
“With Manchetts taking on the existing dealer site in Fengate, Peterborough from Motus, as well as their experienced, fully trained staff, this ensures the continuity of service for existing Isuzu customers, whilst giving Manchetts an excellent platform to expand the Isuzu vehicle parc in this busy part of Eastern England,” said Isuzu’s UK head of sales Richard Waterworth.
Woodland goes 30-plus with Hireco
Woodland Logistics has rented 25 curtainsiders and six flatbed trailers from Hireco – two of its largest ever such contracts.
The trailers, which will be used as part of the company’s packaging and building transport business, were supplied with a full management package, comprising maintenance and tyres.
Woodland operates more than 270 vehicles and had previously used Hireco for ad hoc trailer hire (it initially ordered three trailers in 2016). The firm said it opted for rental due to its speed and flexibility, noting the strong demand for logistics early on in the pandemic and a more recent rebound in the building trade.
“The challenges posed in the early part of 2020 made it clear that we needed a business to partner with that was flexible and could move and adapt with us quickly,” said MD Sean Kirby.
“2020 has been one of the toughest years in my time in logistics, especially with the new challenges of managing a work force now based at home as well as managing a fleet of vehicles and drivers.”
