New service centre in Leeds for Dennis Eagle
Dennis Eagle has relocated its Leeds Service Centre from Whitehall Park to a new, larger facility in Gildersome Spur.
The new site includes a workshop area for MoTs, servicing, inspections, vehicle preparation and presentation, body and chassis refurbishment and defect clearance. There is also a parts warehouse with a comprehensive stock for same or next day delivery, as well as offices, a training conference room and main reception.
The workshop area is a third larger than that of the previous facility, while office space has been doubled. Service Centre Manager Gary McLauchlan said: “We currently employ 15 members of staff but hope that the relocation will give us the opportunity to expand our workforce over the coming months, to include taking on more apprentices.”
Geoff Rigg, aftermarket director for the refuse collection vehicle manufacturer, said the relocation reflected the growing demand for its services in the region. He added: “Our heritage in this area dates back to 1901 and the Yorkshire Patent Steam Wagon Company.
“This became part of the Hestair Group in the 1970s, which eventually became known as Dennis Eagle.”
