Sparshatts open Sittingbourne bypass

Two vintage Mercedes trucks from dealer Sparshatts of Kent official became the first vehicles down the £35.5m Sittingbourne bypass. The pair of classic Mercedes-Benz trucks were the first vehicles to venture onto a bypass that opens to the public on Monday (19th December).

H&L Garages loses Mercedes-Benz franchise

H&L Garages, a truck and van dealer with five Mercedes-Benz sites stretching from Boston to Hull, has lost its franchise.Official word from Mercedes-Benz states: “H&L Garages, a commercial vehicle dealer group with five sites located in Boston, Hull, Killingholme, Lincoln and York, on Tuesday 6th December lost its franchise to sell and service Mercedes-Benz vans and trucks.

Truck sales continue to rise, says SMMT

New truck sales continue to improve with sales up 34.4% for CVs 6.0 tonnes and above, according to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders. Initial figures from the SMMT provide solid news for the used truck market. Tractor unit sales are up 56.3%, and both the rigid sectors, 6.0 tonnes to 16 tonnes and 16 tonne to 32 tonne, are up.

Suspicious fire at used truck dealer Kris Motor Spares

St Helens-based used truck dealer Kris Motor Spares has had 17 trucks damaged in suspicious fires, says its director. Freelance reporter Chris Tindall chased down the story, and revealed that the director, Chuhermal Krishnani, will be ramping up security to prevent more incidents. Merseyside Fire & Rescue says on 19 October one truck caught alight initially before it spread to seven other vehicles with the heat damaging another nine trucks.
