Cartwright joint MDs in shock resignation
Altrincham, Cheshire-based family trailer and body builder Cartwright Group has announced the sudden resignation of its joint MDs, John and Steven Cartwright.
In a statement issued yesterday, chairman Peter Cartwright said the decision of the two brothers to resign was "regrettable" but offered no reason for it. Peter, who is Steven and John's uncle, and fellow directors Mark and Lisa Cartwright have assumed the responsibilities of the two former MDs.
The firm, which is due to exhibit at the Commercial Vehicle Show 2014 next month, was founded in 1952 by Steven and John's grandfather Stanley and father Alan, who passed away in 2011.
It has a number of high-profile customers including Norbert Dentressangle, which late last year invested a multi-million pound sum with Cartwright for 153 new trailers for use on its contract with Carslberg; and City Link, which ordered 86 double-deck trailers from the firm in January via a contract hire deal with Fraikin.
