Paccar's most recent submission, filed under the requirements of The Lobbying Disclosure Act of 1995 make interesting reading.In addition to a lobbying effort pertaining to Banking and Finance, Patent, Transportation and Manufacturing issues, the Bellevue-based 'Global technology and truck manufacturing company' - as it is described on the filing - is also preparing to lobby the US Senate about emissions.If Paccar is spending its money with a view to regularizing the emissions legislation cycle in the US, then it should be both

Truong Hai to List Shares and Expand

Vietnamese OEM Truong Hai is to issue 23 million shares, and aims to increase its equity capital to VND630 billion (US$39.5 / € 29.37 / £19.95 million) from the current VND450 billion.For every three shares they own, existing shareholders will have the right to buy one new share at face value price of VND10,000. Employees will be allowed to purchase around 900,000 shares at the same price. The remaining shares will be sold to strategic partners and outsiders at negotiated prices.Company chairman Tran Ba Duong said he expects Truong Hai to collect VND656 billion from the sale.

MAN, Freightliner Settle at £250 Million

MAN and Freightliner have settled their spat over the naughtiness at ERF.Freightliner will pay £250 million ($496 / €369 million) to MAN AG in settlement. MAN had originally claimed £300 million, but this settlement means that not only will both sides avoid serious litigation costs - or more serious litigation costs.

Ashok Attacks Used Vehicle Market

Ashok Leyland is to establish a wholly-owned Used Vehicle sales operation in India. Called ALTRUX, the new operation will purchase and recondition used Ashok Leyland vehicles, which will then be marketed with a six-month warranty.
