Dhollandia to begin column lift production in the UK

Dhollandia UK has purchased a new manufacturing and assembly site in Wrexham.

The deal, concluded in mid December, will see the Belgian-based manufacturer build its range of column lifts at the 81,000 sq ft site.

The new site will create additional capacity for the UK which has seen a surge in demand and will complement their existing site in the Republic of Ireland where single deck column lifts have been produced for some time.

H Walton gets three new MAN trucks

H Walton of Old Goole has taken delivery of their first new generation MAN Trucks. The new vehicles, in their traditional H Walton Ltd Brunswick green and gold lettering livery, will work across the business delivering a wide range of bagged and bulk feeds, fertilisers and wood pellets throughout the Midlands and into the Scottish Borders.

Joining the fleet will be two TGX tractor units, a 26.510 and a 24.51, as well as a 26 tonne TGS 26.360 rigid. Both TGX units have the GM sleeper cab, with the 26.510 destined to be pulling a curtainsider trailer, while the 24.510 has a NTX/10c gearbox driven PTO which drives a Priden Engineering cooler pack supplying power and drive to a new Priden monocoque plank side bulk blower trailer.

Company director David Walton said: “When purchasing a MAN you know exactly what you’re getting, they’re efficient, reliable and robust. But that’s not where the advantages end, when you look at customer service, you get a trusted relationship with the sales team and a partnership with the dealer, in our case Fishlake Commercial Motors of Doncaster, who both collectively understand the needs of our business and offer us a high level of 360-degree wrap-around care.”

The 26 tonne 6x2 TGS has a high roof TM Cab, mid-lift axle and an 8.2 metre curtainsider body with a Moffett Mounty forklift. It also has a steering rear axle.

“In our business we don’t have the luxury of one-size-fits-all and that’s why each of our new vehicles offers a different solution,” added Walton. “Most of our delivery points are to individual farms and at times access can be tricky. The rigid with its lifting axle and Moffett Mounty will be a real asset to the business ensuring we deliver our feeds and meals to the exact point they are needed and, at the same time put less stress and strain on the driver.”
