Five new Volvos 6x2 tractor units for Reason Transport
Coventry-based family-owned operator Reason Transport has added five new Volvos to its fleet.
The 6x2 tractors, which were supplied by Rory Kelly, transport solutions executive at Volvo Truck & Bus Centre South & East, consist of two FH 460s with I-Save and three FM 460s.
Micheal Reason, director of operations at Reason Transport, said: “I’ve always viewed Volvo Trucks as being a premium brand and so, when we were in the market for new vehicles and
needed to consider an alternative supplier, Volvo was the first name on our list. Our drivers are very excited about this switch; they can’t wait to put them to the test!”
Both FHs have been spec’d to a high standard, with six options packages adding features like a leather interior, luxury sleeper control panel, twin armrests on both driver and passenger seats, a 33-litre fridge, satellite navigation and adaptive LED headlamps.
Safety ranks highly too, the Active Safety+ package adding Volvo Dynamic Steering, Adaptive Cruise Control with Forward Collision Warning with Emergency Brake, Lane Departure Warning with corrective steering, Lane Change Support and Stretch Brake, which can help prevent jack-knifing in slippery conditions.
Reason added: “My drivers’ comfort and safety are top priorities for me, so we worked really hard to tailor the specification to deliver the best possible blend of comfort and performance. If these new trucks perform as well as we expect them to, then I genuinely can’t see us considering another brand going forward.”
The trucks have been supplied on finance via Volvo Financial Services, and are each backed by a comprehensive three-year Volvo Gold Contract. They will operate five days a week and cover 60,000km annually.
