LDV to rebrand as Maxus in the UK and Ireland in time for the CV Show
Van maker LDV is to rebrand as Maxus in the UK and Ireland from 3 April, coinciding with the launch of two new models.
Mark Barrett, general manager of Maxus UK and Ireland, says: “2020 is going to be the brand’s biggest year ever with the impending launch of our game-changing diesel panel van the Deliver 9, and the arrival to market of MAXUS’ second EV model, the E Deliver 3, which was unveiled last year at the Commercial Vehicle Show.
“With cutting edge design, a brand-new platform and 2-litre engine, the LDV Deliver 9 will be the brand’s most comprehensive and versatile offering to date. Available in a choice of three lengths, three heights and a choice of front- or rear-wheel-drive, this van really is on another level.”
Full details, including spec and pricing, will be revealed at this year’s Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham 28-30 April.
New appointments at tipper bodybuilder Thompsons
Tipper bodybuilder Thompsons has made four new appointments, including a second sales manager for England.
Scott Dunn, who formerly worked for TH White, will have responsibility for the eastern side of the country. His sales area will run from Newcastle upon Tyne down to Yorkshire, the East Midlands and East Anglia. Meanwhile Ian Chaplin will be looking after the western area of England, running south from Carlisle to Birmingham to the South West (including Wales).
Further appointments have been made at Thompsons’ Blackburn sites.
David Owen was recently appointed group purchasing manager, whilst Arthur Wright now takes on the role of production manager for bodybuilding at Blackburn Factory 2. Long-serving Blackburn employee Yogi Patel has now been promoted to the role of group health and safety manager.
Thompsons’ joint MD Simon Shields says: “These are all important appointments which will help the company become even stronger. We welcome Scott to our team, with his proven knowledge and expertise being especially valuable to our customers. It’s also good that we can make important promotions from our own staff as the company continues to grow. 2020 already looks like being another key year for the Thompsons Group.”
