Mercedes-Benz launches its flagship Actros Edition 2

Mercedes-Benz has launched the Actros Edition 2, a top-spec limited edition 4x2 or 6x2 tractor with most options ticked.

The flagship truck, which is available with either GigaSpace or BigSpace cabs, has design elements from the Actros Edition 1.

External highlights include exclusive Edition 2 decals, four additional LED spotlights in the sun visor, and three LED working lamps behind the cab.

Stainless steel entrance steps, an illuminated three-pointed star and a dark chrome grille all help to set it apart from standard models.

Internal enhancements include a nappa leather-covered dashboard and several carbon fibre-effect components. The truck can be specified in one of six packages – Safety, Comfort, Driver, Sight, Media and Extra Line.

The Actros Edition 2 is available to order from January, with a limited run of just 400 left- and right-hand-drive trucks.

CM Show 2020: TRP announces 100s of prizes up for grabs at virtual booth

All-makes truck and trailer parts business TRP, supported by DAF Trucks, will be giving away 100s of prizes at next week’s virtual Commercial Motor Show.

TRP will have its own dedicated presence at the three-day online show, where all visitors to its virtual stand will become eligible for the prize draw.

Prizes will include a wide range of high-quality TRP-branded clothing and accessories.

With TRP experts on-hand to describe the TRP brand, show-attendees will experience a number of TRP’s many service offerings including the DAF Webshop, TRP’s national fleet programme and a special Direct Vision Standard (DVS) video to illustrate TRP’s retrofit capability for London’s ‘HGV safety permit scheme’.

Newly-appointed TRP parts marketing manager David Howes said: “The Commercial Motor Show is a fantastic initiative, and one that looks set to bring the industry together again.

“We’re really looking forward to sharing our latest developments directly with operators and our extensive prize draw means everybody visiting the stand will go into a virtual hat with an excellent opportunity of receiving some fantastic TRP merchandise in the post!”

LCV range

TRP has recently introduced an extensive range of light commercial vehicle parts lines to satisfy the demands of larger fleet operators who include vans and light commercials among their fleet profiles.

The move further underlines the TRP range’s one-stop-shop credentials, which now includes 85,000 lines – including lubricants from partner, Chevron.

The entire TRP range of parts and workshop consumables is accessible via the TRP eCatalogue located on the DAF Webshop. Password protected users may identify parts by chassis number, Part number or even competitor Part number, all with 24/7 purchase capability, and available through the 134 DAF Dealers, plus 19 standalone TRP Stores, strategically located throughout the UK and Ireland.

National coverage

The TRP national fleet programme is proving an invaluable parts management tool for DAF and mixed-fleet customers operating vehicles across multiple locations. It ensures consistently high levels of parts supply alongside a consistent pricing structure, irrespective of the parts’ origin from any of the DAF Dealer network’s 134 locations throughout the UK.

HGV Safety Permit scheme retrofit guidance

The Commercial Motor Show also provides TRP with the opportunity to demonstrate its range of parts specifically to assist operators of vehicles exceeding 12-tonnes GVW with HGV safety permit scheme compliance, scheduled for enforcement in London from March 2021.

TRP has produced an insightful DVS / HGV safety permit video which provides comprehensive guidance on compliance, plus a full break-down of typical retrofit parts.

  • The Commercial Motor Show takes place from 29 September to 1 October and is completely free to attend. It combines a full online conference programme with an extensive, interactive trade exhibition for visitors. Sign up today for your entry pass!
