New DAF XFs deliver improved fuel economy for Stalkers Transport Services

Stalkers Transport Services latest batch of DAFs are outperforming their fleet predecessors in regards fuel economy. 

Brampton, Cumbria-based Stalkers’ six XF 480 tractor units with Super Space Cabs and 6x2 twin-steer axle configurations have averaging 8.5mpg since hitting the road in April.

If maintained over 12-months this will be an increase of 8.6% compared with the company’s same-spec CFs, which have averaged 7.83mpg annually. 

It comes at Stalkers Transport marks its 50th anniversary. “We’ve always been a DAF operator, and we always will be,” said the haulier’s MD, Karen Stalker.

“It’s a great product supported by an exceptional local dealer, Solway DAF in Carlisle, with whom we have enjoyed a fantastic relationship for 35 years.”

Stalkers has invested in greater warehouse capacity and new equipment for their workshop, thus bringing its own fleet maintenance in-house and also providing a third party commercial service and repair facility.

However, the latest six XFs come with a two-year preventative maintenance package and will be serviced at the dealer for now.
