Tesco’s first electric 18-tonner is a Renault E-Tech D Wide with Solomon Commercials body
Tesco has put its first zero tailpipe emission 18-tonner on the road, and has plans to add more to the fleet later in the coming months.
The truck, which will be based in Dagenham and will deliver to 400 stores within London, is a battery-powered Renault E-Tech D Wide. It features a Solomon Commercials body with multi temperature zones, and a Carrier TRS Syberia 11 fridge, which is powered directly from the vehicle’s batteries via Renault Trucks’ 600V TVJB Fridge power supply unit. It is also equipped with a rear shutter door and a 1,500kg column tail lift.
Power comes from four 66kWh batteries, located along the classis, and it will deliver a maximum power of 370kW (260kW continuous).

Aftersales support for the E-Tech D Wide is provided by Renault Truck Commercials Essex, and it is funded by Renault Trucks Financial Services on a full service lease.
