Thermo King guarantees fuel savings or will pay the difference
Thermo King is confident enough of the improved fuel efficiency of its new Advancer A-Series trailer fridge units that it has guaranteed to repay the difference if they don’t deliver in the first year.
The company claims that Thermo King A-Series units are up to 30% more fuel-efficient than the market average and are the first in the industry to provide complete transparency of fuel levels and fuel consumption via remotely-accessed telematics.
Prospective customers interested in the guarantee should contact their local Thermo King dealer, who will calculate an individual fuel-saving target, based on specific operating profile, taking into account running hours, the average ambient temperature or whether they transport mostly frozen or fresh goods.
Donal Cox, Thermo King vice-president of sales and commercial leader said “By filling in key information in the TK SmartSaver application, our dealers can calculate the exact savings the customers will achieve by using the Advancer unit. If the fuel saving amount isn’t reached in the given period, Thermo King will pay back the difference.”
Renault reveals new Range T, C and K on Euro Truck Simulator 2
Renault Trucks has revised its Range T, C and K truck ranges in the most extensive round of updates since the vehicles’ 2013 launch.
The new trucks, which were revealed on Tuesday via the popular Euro Truck Simulator 2 game, are said to be up to 3% more fuel-efficient than their predecessors. Although full details have yet to be revealed, this fuel consumption improvement is likely to have been achieved by a combination of improved aerodynamic styling, enhancements to the Fuel Eco Pack, and making low rolling resistance tyres standard.
Among the external changes are new wrap-around LED headlights, which are claimed to be three times more powerful than standard lights. The new design incorporates daytime running lamp, main beam, fog light and indicator.
New safety features include LED step lighting, anti-intrusion door locks and an anti-rollaway feature for the electronic parking brake.
Driver comfort has been stepped up with new seats, improved in-cab sound insulation, a better quality mattress with memory foam topper, and the inclusion of USB C ports.
Service intervals are being extended too, with oil drain intervals typically increasing by 50%.
